Overview

Lishenna Portal is a new deck with cards released in the new Shadowverse Worlds Beyond set, Heirs of the Omen. The deck features a new, unique playstyle for Portalcraft. It focuses on chipping away the opponent's health through multiple /Black Psalms, New Revelation/. Usually, you end up with 3-4 of these amulets on the field, allowing you only one or two spaces to fill with followers!

Gameplan

The game plan is simple on the surface: Fill up the board with Black Psalm, New Revelation and White Psalm, New Revelation to whittle down the opponent's health while surviving until you win! However, that alone is very slow and not practical! You don't want to wait for over eight turns and hope *everything* goes perfectly to win. You need a mixture of sustain, reach, and card draw to execute the game plan consistently and win. Congregant of Destruction is a new card in the set that synergizes well with Lishenna's game plan. It helps you accelerate your chip game plan, and control the board so those annoying enemy followers do not end you! Similarly, Devotee of Destruction comes out with a big chunk of health to protect your face. Sylvia remains one of the best survival tools in Portalcraft as well. The puppet generator cards are also used to control the board and ensure that nothing goes wrong while we keep the cycle of destruction turning. To conclude the game, the deck includes an in-theme card that directly synergizes with the game plan, transferring it to face damage. Axia, Heir to Destruction, is a potent finisher that threatens up to 8 points of direct damage, regardless of wards. While strong on her own, players often combine her with other sources of reach, like Odin, Twilit Fate, and Dogged One. Wasteland of Destruction and Eudie are the prime draw sources of card draw in the deck and synergize well with the deck's goal of drawing enough cards to enable the sustain and chip game plan.

What to Evolve

Since the deck's primary wincon is through cycling White and Black Psalm, it makes sense you would want to evolve Lishenna, Melody Manifest to gain as many of the amulets on the field. However, Devastating Soprano is another way to start generating the amulets earlier without relying on Lishenna. Of course, when possible, you'd still want to evolve Lishenna as that's your primary game plan. However, it's good to keep in mind that it's OK to evolve Gilnelise, or Sylvia, for example, to recover against certain matchups. For Super Evolve, your primary target is Axia as she's the only card (usually) that benefits from Super Evolve. Similarly, super-evolving Odin, or other sources of storm, is acceptable, as that directly supports our win condition. In general, prefer to control the board without using your evolution points unless necessary. The deck has many good removal tools at its disposal through the Puppet engine.

Boardspace

This deck wants as many amulets as possible to deal the maximum damage. However, you will be stuck in a loop of popping your amulets every turn without being able to play any card. So, what's the ideal number of amulets you want up?

Ideally, you want three of the amulets on board. This leaves room for you to play two followers, which is enough to execute your game plan without locking yourself out of viable options. Beware of accidentally getting four on the board! You might be tempted to use Soprano on a White/Black Psalm when you already have three on the board. This will generate a fourth amulet for you, and it will most likely put you in a bad situation. You wouldn't even be able to play a puppet generator with the puppet on the same turn!

So, while playing this deck, be mindful of your board space and how cluttered it is. Similarly, keep in mind that Odin, which is quite prevalent currently, can banish one of your amulets. In short, while sticking to three amulets, keep a plan in case one of them gets banished so you can get it back.

Mulligan

The mulligan is straightforward, but against certain matchups like sword you might want to keep the puppet generators to contest the board early.
